What is satisfaction?

We had different types of lots of food in a multi-cuisine local restaurant. After having nice hospitality one of my friends suddenly said: "I am satisfied". In the bed back home that night I started thinking about satisfaction.

Later I started reading about theories and philosophies related satisfaction.Googled some pages. But no convincing answer. All are perceptions. I tried to create a general statement which can be applicable to all but I failed. Because there is and there will be no unique answer for what satisfaction is!

what I understood satisfaction is the delusion, an oasis of the desert of desires. Definition of satisfaction is changed with every achievement. It's a spiral loop. The dream becomes a desire, desire becomes want, want becomes the obsession, obsession becomes the need, need becomes ego. With every achievement dream changes. This cycle starts again.

In geometry, there is a shape called spiral. Spiral has no end point. It just has a start point. Satisfaction is the starting point of the spiral. Which start with a small need and follow an endless path. The poor may dream of becoming rich. The richer may obsess with power. Those have power may seek to have ownership. Ownership leads to domination. And further which I may know and may don't.

The creator of the universe could not escape this spiral loop and so big bang to the human kind who can create an artificial intelligence.

And after this thought again why I need to know satisfaction? The Clear answer is happiness. Yes, happiness is more realistic than satisfaction. Because happiness is the result of satisfaction.

Why do you need satisfaction? To be happy. If you are happy then you are satisfied. But happiness is a perceptive term which varies person to person. So the original answer will remain same. What is satisfaction!

What really satisfaction is? it is as unknown as X.
